For this week's meeting we have decided to have everyone choose one of these three films/documentary to watch on their own. At our meeting we will then share about the one you chose to view and hear others discuss the one they watched. You are welcome to join the conversation even if you have not attended previously.

o Miss Junetheenth, by Channing Godfrey Peoples. A former beauty queen and single mom prepares her rebellious teenage daughter for the "Miss Juneteenth" pageant. A very moving story of inter generational beauty pageant combining history, black struggle, motherhood, beauty ideals. Worth the purchase of £4.50. See trailer here (available from BFI player here. Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth by Pratibha Parmar.
o A feature documentary film about the life, art and activism of author Alice Walker. Watch the trailer here. Walker’s writing urges us to think differently and critically and that is what can change the world. You can rent on Vimeo for £5.43 here
