The UK is more divided than ever, and no one seems able to agree on anything. What does it mean to be British? To be a man? To be white or “of colour”, gay or straight, young or old, or none of the above? It seems we can’t see the woods for the trees.
We also have a slow read of our groups selected book. Titled, My Grandmothers Hands by Resmaa Menakem & is available to buy from bookshop.com for £9.25 here Please let us know if you need financial assistance in purchasing this book. We also have 1 copy available to loan from our Anti-Racist Community Library. We will discuss late December.
About the book:
My Grandmother's Hands is an extraordinary call to action for all of us to recognize that racism affects not only the mind, but also the body, and introduces an alternative view of what we can do to grow beyond our racial divides.
Please feel free to come along and listen even if you have not engaged with our chosen material as it can still be a great experience to hear people talk about what they've learned.
