We are delighted to be hosting a community celebration for this year’s Refugee Festival Scotland. The theme this year is RISE and we have brought together a programme of activities that will showcase and bolster a spirit of growth, connection and resilience. We will have:
Dabke Dancing workshop, performance and stall from ZarifAtToul AsSamer
Our Anti-Racist Community Library
Language Exchange and Palestinian Solidarity Arabic writing practice thanks to artist Diaa Lagan @diaalagan
Maria Ali, henna artist
Face-painting from Fab n Funky
Children's activities, including balance bikes to play on
Planting activities
Community Info Source with advice and information for people in the asylum system and allies
Dr Bike, offering a FREE bike by Braw Bikes
Samosas
Food and hot drinks at our Warm Welcome Community Cafe in Flourish House
A quiet space hosted by Judy, our mental health support worker
Timetable
11am - stalls and activities open to the public in Millennium Park
11.30am-1.30pm, face painting and henna artist
12-4pm, Warm Welcome Community Cafe open at Flourish House for vegan food and hot drinks (pay what you can basis)
12-2pm, quiet space and mental health support available in Flourish House with Judy
1pm - Dabke performance and workshop (location tbd)
2pm - event ends
