Both films are free to watch on vimeo, please view before our Q&A.

Riding Through the Dark viewing link here (free to watch) (16'39 mins)

Riding Through the Dark aims to shine a light on the heroism of ordinary people and the ordinariness of people who can be perceived as heroic, as they use cycling, especially cycling as part of a group, in the beauty of the Scottish Highlands to get through periods of mental darkness. The film depicts intimate moments with a range of incredibly inspiring women who show how even very different journeys by bike can shape journeys of the mind. It features athletes of the Adventure Syndicate - including Lee Craigie and Emily Chappell - as they do their record-breaking 36-hour North Coast 500 ride, as well as participants of the Velocity Women's Cycle to Health programme.

Riding Through the Dark, has won several awards including the Community Award at Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival 2018 and People's Choice at Fort William Mountain Festival 2018.

Woodland’s CYCLE CINEMA CLUB is a monthly online cinema club that celebrates all things bicycle. Screening remotely a mixture of feature films, documentaries, indie and art house films, anime and much more, all that has a passion for cycling. There will be a strong emphasis on narratives that encompass the politics of cycling / active travel / climate change / feminism throughout. Each screening will be followed with an online discussion on zoom and occasional extra special attendees such as directors of the work.

Within this new programming there will something be for everyone, adults, young adults & children alike. Some of the screenings are perfect for a family viewing. For the 'child friendly ones' why not get your kids to come along, gain confidence asking questions in a safe public setting and collectively, openly reflect on climate change.
