MORE INFO
Woodlands Community Anti-Racist Library will be open on Diwali this year, Sunday 12th November, 11am-1pm. Diwali is celebrated by people all over the world as a time to mark the triumph of knowledge over ignorance, a time to shine some light in the darkness.
With so many people suffering at the moment, we would like to invite people into our community meeting room to share South Asian snacks and sweets, chai, stories and community spirit - offer some hope and light in a dark and heavy time. Come and contribute to our mandala - draw or write messages of support and solidarity to create a beautiful, colourful display of love and compassion. We will also be making clay divas, small candles, for people to take away to bring light into their homes.
There’ll be space, in amongst the celebration, for people to share their worries and support one another, as well as hopeful readings from our collection of books.
Drop in no reservation necessary, all welcome.
