Eco Printing in Woodlands

  • Woodlands Community Garden 91 West Prince's Street Glasgow, Scotland, G4 9BY United Kingdom (map)

Printing in Woodlands is a community project happening in the Woodlands Community gardens in the West end of Glasgow. Over several months we are using the natural technique of eco printing to record the botanicals growing in the garden. Banners, prints and hand bound books will be produced over time and shared with the community in a late autumn event.

Eco Printing is a natural process creating beautiful prints out of steaming botanical material onto cloth or paper.

Over an afternoon of fun come and learn the basics and produce a piece of natural artwork, share coffee and cake with your fellow printers.

I am inviting you to come and take part in a 3 hours Eco Printing event and to become community eco printers for one afternoon.

You will be welcomed in the beautiful garden and be given a briefing on how to proceed. You will put a bundle together using local leaves and paper/cloth, and take part in the making of a communal piece, While our prints are steaming we will share coffee and cake and discover the beautiful community garden.

We will unrol the bundles around 4pm and share the good feel, you will be leaving with your beautiful unique work and a small record of the Woodlands garden. We will together open the communal bundle and take a group photo to be exhibited with our final work.

You will leave with your unique prints.

Eco printing is a natural dye technique, bring an apron and if you have some delicate hands latex gloves.

Please bring a piece of cake to share we will have a communal cake plate.
