MORE DETAILS
In this two-hour workshop you will be able to discover the magic of fresh leaf Japanese Indigo dying (persicaria tinctoria) with Indigo grower and dyer Elisabeth Culshaw.
We will collectively harvest the community garden’s crop of indigo and use the fresh leave ice dying method to colour protein fibre (silk and wool).
You will leave with a small sample of silk and wool you will have hand dyed and gain some knowledge about sustainable natural dying from an urban garden. Spaces are limited booking necessary. Please let us know if you are unable to attend for any reason after booking, so we can give the space to another person.
