A chance to visit a once derelict tenement gap site, transformed for the community with a beautiful new building that inspires people to create, meet and come together.

In 2016 Glasgow City Council granted Woodlands Community a long-term lease on the derelict gap site on the corner of Ashley St and West Princes St. The site had lain empty since the mid 1990s after the last building was demolished due to mining subsidence. During 2016-7 we undertook major building works to bring the site back into community use and our new Community Meeting Room opened its doors to the public in October 2017.

With big, bright windows to create an open, airy space, our new Community Meeting Room is perfect for workshops, craft sessions, meetings, rehearsals, interviews and much more and is situated right next to our beautiful Community Garden.
