MORE INFO

Join us for two special meals celebrating Ramadan with guest chef Luna Issa at Flourish House. This year Woodlands Community invites people, of all faiths and none, to come together to break bread at our Welcoming Ramadan meal on 10th March and an Iftar Meal 24th March. Iftar is the name of the meal eaten by Muslims at sunset to break their day’s fast during the month of Ramadan. It is the main meal of the day for those who are fasting. Iftar is a space of celebration and community. Eating together builds friendship, understanding and trust. It is a way of acknowledging our shared humanity.

There will be a separate space for prayer available in the venue.

It is traditional to break the day’s fast with dates. We will have Palestinian dates on the table at our meal to show solidarity with the people of Palestine, many of whom are Muslims and unable to observe the holy month of Ramadan due to the ongoing genocide.

These meals are run on a drop-in basis, with no need to book. All the food will be vegan/halal. Food is provided on a pay what you can afford basis, but is totally free to people struggling financially.
