MORE INFO
Come and join Yasmin Hanif for the second of three spectacular sessions on oral storytelling as part of the anti-racist library. You'll have the opportunity to share your personal and lived stories and experiences. These could be stories that have been passed down generations in your family, stories that you heard growing up or stories that in some way link to your heritage, culture, or religion. You will also hear other people’s amazing stories and contribute to informal chat and discussions.
Please note this will be a safe and supportive space to share and hear personal stories from people from all of walks of life with the aim to have shared experiences, to connect and bring local people together, to empower community action and foster a sense of belonging and raise awareness of the causes and impact of racism. We hope you will join us for a cosy series of welcoming workshops.
Yasmin is a writer, poet, and educator, specialising in children’s literature. Her first poem, ‘Daisy’s Mum’ was published by Cranachan Publishing in their Stay-at-Home anthology. Yasmin is also an active member of the Scottish BPOC Writers Network, with whom she has had her poem, ‘Partition’ published in their 2020 Mixtape Audio Anthology and written a blog for their website
The sessions are open to all ages though under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult who is also a POC.
