MORE INFO

A Palestine Solidarity group bike ride. Route to follow.

Bring your Palestine flags and your solidarity. Sumud! Let's do it. This ride will be lead by our amazing cycle volunteers. It will be a west end to south side ride.

We are also using this opportunity to share awareness of the Gaza Sun Birds, a Palestine charity who provide community-led aid to Gaza.

https://www.gazasunbirds.org/

On this day, cities around the world will be riding in parallel with the flotillas to Gaza, bringing visible, peaceful solidarity to the streets while action unfolds at sea. Wherever you’re riding from, you’ll be moving as part of something shared. The following day, March 30th, marks Land Day, and also eight years since Gaza Sunbirds co-founder and team captain, Alaa Al Dali, lost his leg after being shot by an Israeli sniper during the Great March of Return in Gaza. That movement called for an end to occupation, for mobility justice, and for the right of return. More than 32,000 Palestinians were injured, and at least 125 people lost limb, including members of Gaza Sunbirds. By riding on this bike ride through Glasgow we will be joining Gaza Sunbirds in calling for an end to the genocide, an end to the occupation, and justice and freedom of movement for Palestinians. It’s a shared action, coordinated by land and by sea, grounded in remembrance and unity.

Specific Route info to follow.

We have a limited refreshments budget in which we will provide participants with Gaza cola and snack falafels from Palestinian owned local business Mrs Falafel. Bring your flags! And let's call for a Free Palestine together! Sumud!

In addition to Palestine Solidarity, this led ride aims to help cyclists build confidence travelling on different routes between two popular neighbourhoods. The route will be a mix of segregated cycle route and on-road cycling. This is a great opportunity to get out, be active and socialise. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and arrive on time ect. We encourage you to bring a packed lunch and lots of water.
