TITLE
Finding Nourishment in Change Workshop with Nicolette Macleod and Penny Chivas
WHEN
Saturday 1st July 10am-12:30pm
WHERE
Woodlands Community Meeting Room & Terrace, 66 Ashley St, G36HW
DESCRIPTION
Come and nourish your body though music and movement in this dance workshop.
Dancer Penny Chivas and musician Nicolette Macleod will lead participants to connect with their bodies and the surrounding natural environment though an interactive workshop.
Penny will lead us through movement to create and explore physically in response to the live improvised organic, natural, and mechanically generated sounds from Nicolette. The improvisational scores will be informed by themes of resilience, imagination, collective and individual choice.
How we can use our imagination, music and movement to keep ourselves nourished in a landscape of climate breakdown?
There will be space for individual exploration, discussion and group-devised material. No prior movement experience required, just a willingness to be present and connect. Please wear comfortable clothing and weather permitting, we may go outside to the gardens.
Suitable for all ages over 16+. Let us know about any access needs you have. Please be on time so we can make the most of our session.
This workshop will be potentially filmed for our funders with your permission on arrival. There will be an option to not be on camera.
