MORE INFO

Woodlands Community are proud to be hosting the first day of SPRINGBOARD, Assembly for creative climate action 2025, as ‘Watch Party host’. Attend in person at Woodlands Community for this virtual event! There is also an option to attend the event online directly link here to ticket sales

Watch parties are being used as a model to reduce travel emissions for participants. This event is online, but because it is useful to get together in a room, SPRINGBOARD has reached out to Woodlands to host this event as they are experimenting with watch parties around Scotland. Practically this means our Meeting Room will have a projector set up and we will collectively be an in person host on Wednesday 5th March. Folk are welcome to attend the next days event online independently.

SPRINGBOARD 2025’s theme is transformational change. We’ll focus on how the arts and culture sector needs to transform in the face of the climate change we are all experiencing, and how doing so can contribute to the transformation of wider society. Join us and friends old and new from the arts, cultural and climate organisations, public bodies, funders and the third sector to explore how we can work together to build a fairer, greener, climate-ready Scotland.

We are all facing enormous upheaval caused by the climate crisis, the economic and funding environment, the long-tail effects of the pandemic and more. We need to know how to find our way in this new world. That's why we've chosen transformational change as our theme for SPRINGBOARD 2025. We’ll focus on how all of society will need to reimagine itself in the face of the climate change we are experiencing, and how the arts and cultural sector, as well as working on its own transformation, can contribute to the transformation of wider society.

This online event will focus on how all of society will need to reimagine itself in the face of the climate change we are experiencing, and how the arts and cultural sector, as well as working on its own transformation, can contribute to the transformation of wider society.

Taking place on 5 and 6 March, the first day will focus on keynote speakers and inspiration while the second will be in breakout rooms for interactive workshops, panels and discussions.

Who’s it for?

SPRINGBOARD is for cultural and climate organisations, freelance creatives and climate champions, funders, local and national government, the public, private and third sectors.

Local hosts will welcome people in person on the assembly’s first day (5 March) to watch together, to discuss what they’ve heard, particularly in relation to their locality, and to network.

Outline programme

Day 1: Hosted by Woodlands Wednesday 5 March

This first day will focus on keynote speakers and inspiration. We’ll watch, listen and learn together online or at local watch parties.

Speakers will include:

  • Rebecca Ford, Director of the International Futures Forum, will introduce the Three Horizons, a framework for structuring our thinking about the future to unlock transformative innovation.

  • Leonie Bell, Director of V&A Dundee, will share her thoughts and experience on change, challenge and leadership.

  • Amina Shah, National Librarian and Chief Executive of the National Library of Scotland, will talk about the library transformed – how to imagine the next chapter in an age of uncertainty.

Throughout the day there will be artistic contributions by Ink Asher Hemp, freelance multidisciplinary artist, facilitator and advocate. Attendees will have time for networking in small groups online or at watch parties and breaks for private reflection away from your screen.
