MORE INFO

This is a monthly traditional music session for People of Colour. We will meet and share songs from a wide range of traditional styles that resonate with our individual heritages and backgrounds. It is a non-judgemental space for cross-cultural exchange through listening and learning. All POC are welcome to attend, including beginners and non-musicians. Sessions will be facilitated by Ray Aggs.

The sessions are open to all ages though under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult who is also a POC.

Ray Aggs is a multi instrumentalist and songwriter based in Glasgow. Primarily known for their distinctive guitar work, influenced by both West African highlife and post punk they also sing and play the violin.

They have been playing old time folk music since childhood with their family.

Ray has contributed to numerous events at Woodlands Community. Particularly our Afro-Gael event and Climate Justice event. They also volunteer at our Anti-Racist Library. Here is their bandcamp
