MORE INFO

We’re delighted to invite you to a vibrant celebration of the 2026 Lunar New Year!

Tết is the Vietnamese celebration of the Lunar New Year and one of the most important festivals across East and Southeast Asia. It is a time to welcome the new year, honour family and ancestors, and embrace renewal and good fortune - as we celebrate the Year of the Horse in 2026.

Join us for a joyful afternoon, featuring:

  • Traditional Vietnamese Tết snacks and tea

  • Traditional Tết games

  • Year of the Horse craft activities

  • A live cooking demonstration

  • Live Vietnamese traditional music

  • Woodlands Community Anti-Racist Library (curated selection)

We warmly invite you to come dressed in your traditional clothing and share your heritage and culture with us.

All are welcome, bring your friends, family and festive spirit!

We are delighted that our guest curator for the event is An Trinh. An is a multidisciplinary Vietnamese-Australian creative based in Glasgow, whose practice brings together music, language and an interest in community engagement. As a composer and multi-instrumentalist, her work weaves together Vietnamese folk traditions, classical and jazz influences to explore memory, place, migration and identity. With a background in Linguistics, she is also particularly interested in the relationship between language, sound and storytelling. An uses her creative practice to reflect on and navigate the complexities of diasporic experience.

Woodlands Community uses GAMH Community Hub for our Warm Welcome Cafe which is open during this event.

Access

The ground floor is accessible via the front entrance. There is ramped access to the cafe via 4 manual doors. It is clearly signed. Access to the upstairs of GAMH Community Hub is via a flight of stairs or a lift at reception.
