Visible Mending and Slow Stitch in Woodlands

  • Woodlands Community Garden Hub 101 West Prince's Street Glasgow, Scotland, G4 9BY United Kingdom (map)

The summer is over and with the cold weather we will meet in the Woodlands community garden to sit and sew and tell stories until the good weather returns... we will drink tea and learn to slow down and stitch ... its great to learn to listen to the seasons and adapt our activity to the weather... In past time farmers used to seat by the fire in the winter and mend and prepare for the good days... We will mend and stitch on blue cloth and all should be recycled...
We will learn the stitches of visible mending on personal pieces if you have some mending to do or slowstitch on recycled jeans towards the making of a communal piece ... I will bring in plenty of blue scraps to use...

This is a meet and stitch event it is not a formal workshop we share a time and a place... we will make tea... feel free to bring biscuits to share ... home baking is best :)

This is FREE and completely to opened to all ages and to complete beginners....

We will meet in the hub in the garden (not in the Woodlands Workspace).

If you want to donate some old jeans please bring them along but make sure they are CLEAN...

See you there....

Betty & Betty :)
