Join us at Woodlands Workspace, Woodlands Community Garden and online in celebrating 10 years of the Woodlands Community Garden.
We are offering a weekend of walk through, socially distanced activities to celebrate the story of the garden and highlight some of the Woodlands Community Development Trust projects and residents. We are also excited to be partnering up with local residents who are launching a Woodlands History Project and will be offering a few small group guided tours in the neighbourhood.
Come along for a walk through and experience:
-Self-guided tours of the garden and further afield into the neighbourhood.
-Information and upcoming events for our new Woodlands Climate Action Project.
-Locally made zines highlighting creative writing and other creative & place-based pursuits that have come out of Lockdown.
-Also, Dr. Bike from Bike for Good Glasgow West will be on site so ride along to the event and have your bike get a tune up while you are enjoying the event. Saturday 12-3pm & Sunday 1-4pm
The Dr Bike mobile repair workshop will be open for drop ins at the Woodlands Workspace where experienced mechanics will carry out a basic safety check on your bike adjusting what is required and supplying and fitting small consumable parts, such as brake blocks and cables. Each bicycle will receive a detailed feedback form, informing the owner what work has been carried out and what additional work is required. You will also have the chance to test out cargo and electric bikes which are available to borrow through Bike for Good and learn more about their Curious Commuter program which can support you in finding a safe and efficient route from your home to your workplace. Also, cycle lessons are available for sign up!
