Women of Woodlands are offering the opportunity for women in the area to attend a Personal Safety taster Session with Wise Women. The session will introduce content and techniques from the Wise Women Personal Safety course and will offer the opportunity for participants to ask any question they may have and to sign up to the full course which will be offered from mid April.
Wise women courses focus on what abilities women already have and develop new skills to increase women’s sense of safety, so that they leave with options for making informed decisions on what can be done to remove or decrease the risk of violence and crime in their lives.
The full course will offer support, information, education, skill sharing, awareness raising and techniques for identifying avoiding and escaping potentially dangerous situations as well as challenging damaging women blaming attitudes and building women’s confidence and self esteem.
Spaces are limited. Priority will be given to members of the Women of Woodlands (WOW) group AND women living in the local area of Woodlands and surrounding areas of Woodlands, Cowcaddens, Woodside, Firhill, Queens Cross, Wester Common, Hamiltonhill and Possilpark.
Please be mindful of this when signing yourself up.
