Last year UK households wasted approximately 4.5 million tons of otherwise completely edible food , worth approximately £14bn. This represented 70% of food waste in the entire country last year. This can feel like an overwhelming statistic, but the good news is that this shows that one of the biggest things we as individuals can do to impact climate change is something that we can do from home, with very little effort and will save us money in the short and long term; throwing away less edible food!
This series of workshops will explore what we can cook with food and ingredients that were otherwise destined for the bin, to help you make delicious food and scrumptious meals from practically nothing! This week’s workshop we will be cooking Broccoli & Roast Cauliflower Stalk Soup!
You are welcome to attend to cook along or just sit back to watch along. If you are interested in cooking along, email xander@woodlandscommunity.org.uk and the recipe & shopping list will be sent over to you!
