Waste is a huge problem for our local and global environment. Most of our waste goes to landfill and creates harmful greenhouse gasses - CO2 and methane - which contributes to global warming accelerating climate change as well as the plastic particles polluting our soil and water.
But it doesn't have to be like this - there are many ways to reduce the amount of stuff each of us as individuals discards every day - reducing what we get in the first place; re using what we already have; and recycling.
