THE MARRIAGE DREAM & DIVORCE
Marriage and divorce are both common experiences. In Western cultures, more than 90 percent of people marry by age 50. Marriage is a happy dream, who doesn’t like dreams? Healthy marriages are good for couples’ mental and physical health. They are also good for children; growing up in a happy home protects children from mental, physical, educational and social problems. In 2018, 47 per cent of the Scottish population was married/ civil partnership, 37 per cent were single, never married/in civil partnership, 6 per cent widowed, however, about 10 per cent of married couples in Scotland divorce.
Regardless of whether you had close contact with marriage, divorce/separating or not, this important issue is central for all of us, and it is very often avoided, leading to fear and discomfort. Come along and chat about it, in a relaxed and friendly environment, while sipping tea or coffee, this is a chance to talk informally about something that affects us all.
At a “believe-IN| Blether” people, often strangers, gather to, discuss whatever life-changing theme we are covering, keeping in mind many perspectives including happiness, hopes, joys, but also grief, loss, and bereavement - mostly about life!
