Treasurer (Board member) Vacancy
Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed)
We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. Joining us as Treasurer is an opportunity to make a lasting difference. This is a strategic role — not a technical one — and you’ll be part of a dedicated, values-driven Board helping guide the future of our organisation. We hope you’ll consider bringing your skills, insight, and passion for community to our board. As a Board member, we hope you will gain as much from the experience as you give. We have an annual celebration for volunteers across all projects, and you will be offered opportunities to undertake training (e.g. Governance, Fundraising, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Anti-Racism).
This is a strategic position for someone with confidence in financial matters, but you don’t need to be an accountant. If you’re comfortable with numbers, interested in community work, and willing to support good governance, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll work closely with our General Manager and Finance Manager, who handles the day-to-day finances. Your role is to review, question, and help the board understand what the numbers mean so we can make informed, values-driven decisions.
You should be available to attend monthly board meetings on the last Wednesday of the month 6.30pm – 8pm. These meetings are in person, with an option for hybrid (joining online) as necessary.
